Removal of intraocular foreign body from anterior chamber or lens.

Modifiers may be applicable depending on the circumstances.-RT and -LT are used to indicate the right or left eye, respectively. Modifier 50 is used for bilateral procedures. Other modifiers, such as those for increased procedural services (22) or discontinued procedures (53), might also be applicable depending on the specifics of the case.

Medical necessity for this procedure is established by the presence of a foreign body in the anterior chamber or lens that poses a threat to vision or ocular health.

The physician is responsible for preparing the patient, administering anesthesia, examining the eye, locating and removing the foreign body, and closing the surgical site.

IMPORTANT:For removal of implanted material from the anterior segment, use 65920.
