The provider treats a group of two or more individuals with communication and hearing difficulties by directly interacting with them. He assesses the patients with impairment in their ability to make sounds, along with significant receptive and expressive deficits, to identify if the sound signals reach the brain through the ears. The provider performs articulation therapy to teach sounds and words to the group, so they may distinguish between sounds, react to different sounds in different ways, and integrate various sounds in words and phrases. The provider also executes such treatment as oral strength and control exercises; language therapy, both receptive and expressive; and communicates with the patients through action and lip movements. He records the patients' responses and guides them to perform their daily activities properly.

Example 1: A speech therapist works with a group of children with articulation difficulties, guiding them through exercises to improve their pronunciation of specific sounds., A therapist leads a group session for adults recovering from strokes, focusing on improving their receptive and expressive language skills., A therapist conducts group therapy for individuals with auditory processing disorders, using various techniques to enhance their ability to distinguish and process sounds.

Documentation should include the diagnosis, treatment plan, individual progress notes for each patient within the group, and any specific interventions used.
