Medical necessity for 93924 is established based on the patient's clinical presentation (e.g., symptoms of peripheral arterial disease, risk factors for vascular disease), the need to assess the severity and extent of arterial disease, and to guide treatment planning (e.g., medical management, surgical intervention).

The physician is responsible for placing blood pressure cuffs, obtaining Doppler signals, performing ABI measurements, monitoring symptoms and exercise tolerance, and interpreting the results. This includes the selection of appropriate testing methodology and the analysis of collected data.
