Medical necessity is established by the patient's symptoms and clinical indication for evaluation of a sleep disorder. The unattended study must be ordered by a physician or other qualified healthcare professional.
A physician or other qualified healthcare professional performs the interpretation and report of the study results. A sleep technician is not in attendance during the sleep study.
In simple words: This is a sleep study done without a technician present, measuring your heart rate, oxygen levels, and breathing patterns.
